词汇 | eosinophilia |
释义 | eosinophilia noun[ U ] medical specializeduk /iː.əˌsɪn.əˈfɪl.i.ə/ us /iː.əˌsɪn.əˈfɪl.i.ə/ an abnormal increase in the number of eosinophils (= a type of white blood cells) in the blood: 嗜曙红白细胞增多,嗜酸细胞增多 Eosinophilia is usually due to infection by parasites such as roundworms.嗜曙红白细胞增多通常是因为寄生虫感染引起的,比如线虫。 Disorders & diseases of the heart & blood acidosis acquired agammaglobulinemia adult-onset diabetes afib agammaglobulinemia anaemic apoplexy clot-busting coarctation of the aorta congenital erythropoietic porphyria congestive heart failure coronary heart disease decompression sickness furred MGUS mini-stroke mitral monoclonal gammopathy of unknown significance monocyte disorder toxaemia Examples of eosinophiliaeosinophilia Equivocal titres alone (where eosinophilia was not measured) have been implicated as representing infections that have not been completely eliminated [23-25]. This stage is characterized by significant digestive disturbances and general symptoms associated with marked eosinophilia. All six participants who had intestinal parasite infections detected on faecal microscopy had eosinophilia. Consistent results were noted in the pathological observations, including eosinophilia, leukocyte infiltration, granulomatous reactions, and time responses in the brain tissues of infected mice. In the eosinophilia arm, subjects are allocated to receive treatment or no treatment by infection status using the prevalence, sensitivity, and specificity of the test. However, other series have shown discrepancies between cases who had eosinophilia and those who had serological evidence of trichinellosis [1]. The experiment was continued for 10 weeks and peripheral blood eosinophilia was also determined. The chronic eosinophilia may be due to the prolonged larval migration seen in these hosts. Information on a patient's eosinophil count is, therefore, available to clinicians at no cost ; thus, screening for eosinophilia is intuitively cost-effective. Nine participants with eosinophilia had a history of hay fever and two had a history of asthma. Serological response, eosinophilia in peripheral blood, occurrence of white spots in the liver and worm recovery from the intestine. The intensity of eosinophilia, measured by the chamber technique, is also of some diagnostic value. On the other hand, among 136 patients with positive toxocaral serology, 58 patients (42.6%) had eosinophilia. The absence of eosinophilia, however, does not rule out the presence of toxocariasis. As in all patients with larval toxocariasis, eosinophilia was also most frequent in the 3-5 years old group of children (table 2).
