Trained philosophers and logicians who are familiar with paradox and self-referentiality might suspect self-exclusion to be an ad hoc solution. But objects are what classical logicians have had in mind as the basic entities populating their postulated universes. So the fit between the practices of logicians and formal semanticists with predicate-argument structure and the neural facts is not quite perfect. But in general, the interaction between modalities, syntax and names has been of interest to logicians for quite some time. For these reasons, logicians rightly reject the power of completeness. Why inductive logicians would call this enhancing analogical reasoning is not quite clear to me. Although formal in style, the book is by no means written for logicians only. So logicians have developed special notations for describing thought (not that they have always admitted or been aware that that is what they were doing). The collaboration of logicians and computer scientists has been fruitful and many works and results have ensued. The way this is achieved is through the use of an argument known to logicians as a fallacy of equivocation. The logician's disciplined insistence on a well-specified ontology mapped explicitly onto elements of the logical notation is exemplary. Such questions cannot be settled by the logicians' insistence on realism and/or intentionality. This is what inductive logicians would call all strategies for enhancing analogical reasoning. The need for such a logic became apparent when the study of natural languages was undertaken by linguists and logicians. These examples are from corpora and from sources on the web.
