释义 | anemometer noun[ C ] environment specializeduk /ˌæn.ɪˈmɒm.ɪ.tər/ us /ˌæn.əˈmɑː.mə.t̬ɚ/ a device that measures the speed and force of wind风速计,风力计 Synonym wind gauge tomislz/iStock/Getty Images Plus/GettyImages Wind & winds blast chinook crosswind cyclonic cyclonically easterly gale leeward northerly northwesterly sea breeze sigh slipstream stiff the Coriolis effect tornado weathervane windblown windswept wuthering During the recent gales on the West Coast of Ireland the anemometer registered the unprecedented velocity of one hundred-and-ten miles per hour. On top of the screen a Robinson's anemometer was screwed. Probably a sphere would prove most useful for a pressure anemometer, since owing to its symmetrical shape it would not require a weathercock. The other forms of velocity anemometer may be described as belonging to the windmill type. They have their anemometer always on the twirl, and can tell you the force, or at least the pace, of a gale, by day or night. anemometer | American Dictionaryanemometer noun[ C ] us/ˌæn·əˈmɑm··t̬ər/ earth science a device that measures the speed and force of wind Examples of anemometeranemometer The only approximation relies on accepting that the large-eddy motions do not change significantly while crossing the set of anemometers. The time delay is due to small electronic differences between the two anemometers. A three-component laser anemometer has been developed to measure this highly turbulent three-dimensional flow. Signals from the hot-film anemometer and the pressure cell were displayed simultaneously on the oscilloscope. The linear analysis was verified by analyzing a portion of data using the exact, non-linear response function of the anemometers. This initial calibration confirmed an accurate correlation between fan rev/min and mean-wind speed; consequently this was used t o calibrate the anemometers. With this arrangement the anemometers covered the full velocity defect in the vertical plane, and an equivalent length in the horizontal one. The anemometers are calibrated by means of hot-wire measurements of phase in the periodic heat wake of a fine wire heated from the mains. The initial templates used by the pattern recognition algorithms have been obtained by simulating the passage of a double roller over the set of anemometers. Under this definition, windmills, water wheels, anemometers, and certain tree fruits and seeds are ' autorotating ' devices. Each position in the array contains a single-wire hot-wire anemometer probe. Such an assumption cannot be checked with present data because the span of the set of anemometers is barely the width of one double-roller eddy. An electrostatic filter was placed at the entrance to eliminate dust contamination of the hot-wire anemometers. These perturbation data were used to evaluate the coefficients in a curve-fit of the flow velocity to the anemometer output voltage. An approximation to the former type of body is found in the cup of the meteorologist's anemometer. These examples are from corpora and from sources on the web.
