释义 | dieter noun[ C ] uk /ˈdaɪ.ə.tər/ us /ˈdaɪ.ə.t̬ɚ/ someone who is trying to lose weight by dieting节食者,减肥者 Diets & dieting caloric calorie-controlled carb-free clean eating cleanse detox diabetic functional food keto diet ketogenic diet lacto-ovo vegetarian lacto-vegetarian lacto-vegetarianism regimen slimming staple diet supernutrition veganism Veganuary vegetarianism In the USA, one of every three dieters misses pizza more than any other food. Examples of dieterdieter As predicted, dieters reported themselves to be significantly more preoccupied with thoughts of food and eating. Thus, while the older dieters avoided the relational conflicts experienced by younger respondents, they did so at the cost of extra household duties. For the former, they reinforced the company's rhetoric about weight loss as a simple matter of ' reasoned eating ' that lies fully under the dieter's control. It is possible that these recruitment procedures biased the sample, producing a more highly motivated group than would be typical of the average dieter. For example, the older dieters tended to discount the potential embarrassment of an unsuccessful weigh-in by emphasising the shared experience of disappointment. Such exchanges served important functions for both the organisation and the individual dieters. Although dieters were significantly impaired in mood and well-being, these variables were associated with tendencies to eat when emotional, and not with restrained eating. Selective attention to food and body shape words in dieters and restrained non-dieters. By contrast, dieters who reported highly restrained eating showed no such correlations. This raises the issue of how restraint and mood (both high in dieters) might inter-relate in the way they affect attention. Although such dieters may be in the majority, confounding two variables that contribute to such lack of success limits our ability to examine why such failure occurs. However, much previous research has been confined to student dieters who are typically normal weight (and therefore more likely to be attempting to diet for ' non-health ' reasons). More importantly, in some cases the preoccupation of obsessive dieters with unnatural slimness may be a cause of other physical and psychological illnesses.
