释义 | dicot noun[ C ] biology specializeduk /ˈdaɪ.kɒt/ us /ˈdaɪ.kɑːt/ a plant that has two cotyledons (= leaf parts inside the seed): 双子叶植物 You can tell a dicot because when you cut it down, you can see rings in the trunk. 你可以分辨出一株双子叶植物,因为当你把它砍下来时,可以看到树干上的环。 Synonym dicotyledon Compare monocot Trees are dicots, palms are monocots. Dicots are one of the two groups into which all flowering plants were formerly divided. Dicot numbers tended to be greater under conventional herbicide management. Eight dicot species germinated from the 1-d post-burn soils and 13 from the 1-y post-burn soils. All except one of the 72 pre-burn soil samples (99%) contained germinating dicot seed and 40 (56%) contained germinating monocot seed. However, 10% of the dicot seedlings from the reference forest died before they could be identified. Thirty-three per cent of these species were dicot herbs; 14% of the seedlings were shrubs/small trees and tree species. Weeds were either pooled as one group, or separated into dicots and monocots. In 1994, reference forest soils produced 422 seedlings (703 seeds m-2), 368 (87%) dicots and 54 (13%) monocots. Therefore, monocots are better able to deal with the typical water stressed habitat of the lowland canopy than dicots. Thus, in both monocot and dicot seeds, loss of dormancy was associated with a reduction in the threshold oxygen percentage. Unidentified species (monocot and dicot classes comprising 13.5% of the emerged seeds) were excluded from the analyses. Ten per cent of the dicot seedlings from the reference forest died before they could be identified. The reference forest soils and the pre-burn soils each produced 30 dicot species. Nonetheless, the clear differences between most dicot seeds and the cereals are consistent between the two methods. Using the year total pollinators as an example (fig. 4), numbers were positively related to dicots, with no effect of herbicide management. Only 2.6% of the seedlings were dicot herbs; while no vines, small trees/shrubs or trees germinated. See all examples of dicot These examples are from corpora and from sources on the web.
