Pituitary dysfunction may show as diabetes insipidus, menstrual irregularities, and other endocrine dysfunctions. Diabetes insipidus is a predictable side effect of complete pituitary ablation. Central diabetes insipidus is distinguished from diabetes mellitus by checking the urine for glucose.
