a liquid mixture containing oil, vinegar, herbs, and sometimes other types of food, that is put on salads to give flavour to them:
Make your own vinaigrette using 2/3 vinegar and 1/3 oil, whisking in a spoonful of French mustard.
For vinaigrette, mix mustard and sugar, slowly add oil and then vinegar, and as much chopped basil as you like.
Nut oil vinaigrettes are delicious served as a warm dressing for salads.
Finally drizzle a little vinaigrette dressing over the salad.
Mix the chopped parsley, garlic, olive oil, chopped anchovies and vinegar to make a vinaigrette sauce.
