For each oddity trial, the children had to press the spacebar and say the odd word when they knew the answer. During this display, participants press the spacebar if they detect a sequence of three-odd or three-even numbers. The task requires participants to press the spacebar as quickly as possible when they are presented with a letter on a computer screen.
