a small, light, pastry case filled with sweet or savoury (= seasoned or flavoured but not sweet) food:
The word "bouchée" means "mouthful", and is from the French "bouche", the mouth.
The remaining puff pastry can be cut into various shapes and used to make bouchees.
A bouchée is a small puff pastry case with filling -- a mouthful to serve as an appetizer or a sweet bite after a meal.
Prepare the puff pastry bouchées in advance and cook them shortly before they are needed.
