a plant with small, thick leaves that can store water, and with white, yellow, or pink flowers that grows close to the ground, especially in dry, hard soil. Sedums are sometimes used to cover the roofs of buildings:
Sedums do well and stay more compact if grown on poor, dry soil.
sedum roofWe chose a sedum roof because it soaks up carbon, and keeps the house cool in summer and warm in winter.
