In English, many past and present participles of verbs can be used as adjectives. Some of these examples may show the adjective use.

For example, from the new fact ' 'the grass is wet' ', one can abduce that ' 'it has rained not long ago' '.
It was always raining, it rained every day.
And then when it rained it won't come on you.
Irrigation occurred daily at 6:00 am and 6:00 pm for 45 min unless it rained.
Because if it rained too much, the water got muddied, spoiling the "stuff" (water mixed with pulped rags) that went into the paper.
When you go out the door, there is a high possibility that you are going to get rained on.
Because it rarely rained at this time direct evaporation from the soil surface would have been less.
And yet again the annual fête has been rained off.
There does not appear to be a particularly salient adversative reading : it is perhaps unfortunate that it rained in the afternoon, but such things happen.
