In grammar, a postpositive adjective, etc. comes after the word it modifies(= whose meaning it limits or adds to), for example the adjective new in the sentence I'd like something new to wear. :
Postpositive adjectives are used with compound pronouns and a few fixed expressions.
These adjectives can be attributive, predicative, and postpositive.
In the case of the Icelandic postpositive article, an inflected suffix attaches to a noun.
In a language such as Japanese, postpositive particles occupy a position at the end of a phrase.
