a spot on the skin that contains pus (= thick yellowish infected liquid), caused by a disease such as chickenpox or smallpox, or a small hollow place that is left when the spot has healed:
His face was covered in pocks and cysts.
In rare cases the pock may reappear in the same place after it is apparently healed.
