The passive form of a verb is being used when the grammatical subject is the person or thing that experiences the effect of an action, rather than the person or thing that causes the effect: 被动语态的
'He was released from prison' is a passive sentence.He was released from prison 是个被动句。
In the sentence "He was hit by the ball", "was hit" is in the passive voice.He was hit by the ball这句话中was hit是被动式。
'Catrin told me' is an active sentence, and 'I was told by Catrin' is passive.Catrin told me 是主动句,而 I was told by Catrin 是被动句。
In a passive sentence, the subject is the person or thing affected by the action of the verb.
'Was made' is a passive form of the verb 'make'.
Some verbs do not have a passive form.
