The Pacinian corpuscles lay deep within the hypodermis. The Pacinian corpuscles are found in the subcutaneous tissue on the nerves of the palm of the hand and sole of the foot. When pressure is applied to a Pacinian corpuscle, the capsule is pressed out of shape, and deforms the nerve ending inside it. Meissner's corpuscles are sensitive to light touch, while Golgi bodies and Pacinian corpuscles are sensitive to tension and pressure.
