The domains were: bilingual language competence, perception and production, bilingual language acquisition in children and adults, neurolinguistics of bilingualism in normal and brain-damaged subjects, and non-linguistic cognitive processes in bilinguals. Grodzinsky has probably done as much as anyone to put syntax center stage in neurolinguistics. Current inquiries place these topics in a dynamic and sprawling multidisciplinary context manifested through investigations of linguistic acquisition, cognitive development, genetics, neurocortical processes, cognitive neurolinguistics, behavioral phenotypes, and language intervention. The ten essays that form the body of the volume include contributions within the areas of grammar and pragmatics of child language, neurolinguistics and aphasia, and theoretical syntax.
