The qualitative analyses focus on the learners' metalinguistic knowledge with regard to article selection. They conclude that self-management strategies contribute to an increase in learners' self- and contextual knowledge which can assist in reducing anxiety. This reorientation, in turn, led to a revision of the concept of error and a radical reappraisal of teacher and learner roles. There has been research on teaching techniques for young learners, but what task types are appropriate and efficient for testing children is an under-researched area. Methods of teaching peace topics should be developed in order to get the message across to the language learners. For the most part, these learners took a pragmatic view of notation, viewing it as useful but not crucial. Language learners use their heads to figure out the same things, and their understanding of language is driven by this lexical knowledge. Whatever effect structural similarity exerts on learning, it does not change with the age of the learner. The study was conducted on two groups of learners: 53 college students and 56 high school students. However, both constructs had an interesting characteristic in common: students with higher levels of anxiety tended to have low self-concepts as language learners. Table 2 gives the average performance of the foreign learners in both word categorization tasks. On each trial, the correctness and latency of the learner's verbal response were assessed. The studies reviewed in this chapter point to a consistent minority of language learners who find language learning an uncomfortable and unsettling experience.
