释义 | iambic adjective literature specializeduk /aɪˈæm.bɪk/ us /aɪˈæm.bɪk/ used to refer to a rhythm(= pattern of words) used in poetry, in which each short syllable that is not stressed is followed by a long or stressed syllable: (诗歌)短长格的;抑扬格的(诗歌的韵律模式,短促的非重读音节后跟有长的重读音节) iambic pentameterMost of Shakespeare's verse is written in iambic pentameter (= rhythm with each line made of five iambic pairs).莎士比亚的大部分诗歌都是以抑扬五音步写成的,每行诗都由五对抑扬格组成。 Compare dactylic spondaic trochaic Literature accentual action hero alliterative alternative history anapest femslash fiction fictionality fictionally fictive non-canonical non-character non-literary non-metrical non-poetic sympathetically tanka tartan noir theatrics threnody Examples of iambiciambic Lengthening appears to occur less frequently among trochaic systems than iambic systems, and an analysis of rhythmic lengthening must account for this asymmetry. First, non-finality simply cannot establish an iambic minimal word. To illustrate, first consider the situation where the stressed syllables occur in iambic feet. The first is the observation mentioned above that lengthening occurs with greater frequency among iambic systems than it does among trochaic systems. The traditional analysis is iambic, but the iambic/trochaic distinction is very marginal in traditional metrics. If final stress cannot be avoided (due to underlying stress or an iambic stress system), final stress is not made more prominent by being lengthened. There is apparently no attested language with the mirror-image iambic pattern. Their role in restricting clash and lapse helps the theory to accurately predict iambic-trochaic asymmetries. The analysis would make ternary footing more common and has the potential to explain additional iambic-trochaic asymmetries that involve weight sensitivity. In all cases, the lexical item constitutes the head of an iambic foot. Different classes require variations on the shape of the iambic foot and some in curious ways. Odd-parity forms are iambic and stress every even-numbered syllable counting from the left. Deviations from this "best" iambic string were then measured in terms of the information-theoretic content of the deviant string, measured in bits. The issue of whether reduplicative words as a whole are trochaic, iambic, or even spondaic, has stymied their description for a long time. A bisyllabic parse fares even worse, since it forces a mixing of iambic and trochaic feet within the same line. These examples are from corpora and from sources on the web.
