释义 | huisache noun[ C ] uk /wiːˈsɑː.tʃi/ us /wiːˈsɑː.tʃi/ a bush or small tree of the acacia family, found in America and grown in other places, with thorns(= sharp points) and groups of yellow flowers that are used to make perfume(= liquid with a pleasant smell, often used on the skin) because of their strong, pleasant smell: Huisache and prickly pear bloomed here then, just as they do now. The green tops of mesquite and huisache trees dot the surface near the shore. Huisache is fast-growing, and usually grows 3-7 metres tall. As early as 1611, huisache plants were cultivated for their aroma. The road wound away through the spiny huisaches and cactus. Huisache is increasing in some areas, and is reducing the agricultural productivity of those areas.
