释义 | G clef noun[ Cusually singular ] music specialized(alsoG-clef)uk /ˌdʒiː ˈklef/ us /ˌdʒiː ˈklef/ a sign on a stave(= the five lines on which music is written) that shows that the notes are above middle C (= the C near the middle of a piano keyboard): The tenor is the highest voice, and always has the G clef. Pitches indicated are rough approximations of equivalent pitches in a G clef. The manuscript of the psalm in this collection uses the more modern G-clef. They reproduced the music in the G clef, but stated it was originally written in the C clef, so it is often transcribed back. The G clef is generally placed on the second line of the staff. In general, the G clef is used in music written for higher-pitched instruments.
