Any modelling of the factors that affect take-up and contributions, beyond the scope of this paper, would need to take this selection into account. Even fairly similar types, such as corn crushers and kibblers, had very different take-up rates. There has been a steady rise in student loan take-up, although take-up rates remain uneven among certain student groups.
