Further, according to linear analysis, for a given strain rate, the higher the rotationrate, the higher is the kinetic energy growth rate. For slightly larger values of the rotationrate, weakly turbulent spectra are obtained, indicating an early appearance of weak turbulence: stationary structures and defects coexist. If the phase speed is low, they might pass the hot wire a t a frequency comparable to the table rotationrate. We first checked that the frequency obtained in the spectra only depends on the rotationrate and the stratification and not on the experimental procedure. Our main result is that the mean size of the structures increases continuously with rotationrate, until it reaches the size of the gap. Figure 13 shows that the evolution of this frequency with rotationrate no longer depends on stratification. The rotationrate for which this occurs is in close agreement with predictions from linear stability theory. We find that the circulation, cloud, and temperature patterns all change significantly with rotationrate. Within these layers, the fluid feels the new rotationrate, and is thrown outward by the increased centrifugal force. In particular, how do they depend on the background stratification, the rotationrate, the depth of the fluid and the forcing? The temperature frequency spectra had the same shape as in the non-rotating regime, but shifted to lower frequencies with increasing rotationrate. Error bars represent the mean rotationrate and one standard deviation. This system is characterized by two control parameters: one destabilizing, the rotationrate of the inner cylinder; and the other stabilizing, the stratification. These measurements show that the frequency can have two different values for one rotationrate, depending on the procedure (increasing or decreasing). A feature of this experiment is that the rotationrate is rapid so that frictional effects are very weak. Without a barrier the heat flux decreases with increasing rotationrate. The rotationrate of the flaps decreases linearly to zero during the course of the motion. The rotationrate 2 is constant. These examples are from corpora and from sources on the web.
