The dynamic version implements association of indices with values using a radix trie.
As mentioned earlier, the standard representation is not computationally suitable, but this shortcoming is easily fixed by using one of the variants of radix representation.
We address this topic with the help of an example, namely calculating the radix-sort algorithm from a more obvious specification of sorting.
The digits in our radix representations take values in the algebraic integers.
All the multi-sets can then be sorted by a single application of a radix sort.
The advantage of radix-sort over tree-sort is that it does not require a stack.
In this paper, we derive radix-sort from tree-sort as an exercise in calculating programs from specifications.
This is a positional representation that falls within the more general case of radix representations, in which a real number is represented by a stream of digits.
One of the advantages of the duodecimal system is that you can divide the radix by two twice.
