Therefore, we should ask what characteristics of freshwater and marine environments favour the alternative host responses to trematode parasitism. The weighted mean percentage parasitism was determined by dividing the number of parasitoids emerged by the correction factor (1.34) and multiplying by 100. Yet, even in low density tents, the rate of parasitism exceeded 60% only in a single case. Egg parasitism was scarce on all host plants sampled and in all four agro-ecological zones.
