For the present study two distinct aspects of the participant's role were observed: a nurse-led assessment clinic (four hours) and a pulmonary rehabilitation programme (three hours). The introduction of nurse prescribing in the author's dermatology unit brought benefits including easier and quicker access to specialist help, and a nurse-led service has now been introduced.
