The leaflets are attached to the axis along their entire base. In such patients, the interventricular defect is usually small, and shunting is limited by tendinous cords tethering the bridging leaflets. The degree of dysplasia was least in the valves with two leaflets and highest in those with four leaflets. Both the superior and the inferior bridging leaflets showed partial attachment to the inferior edge of the atrial septum. The classification is based on the severity of the displacement of the septal and posteroinferior leaflets, with four grades of increasing severity. There is continuity of the leaflets of the aortic and pulmonary valves because of absence of the outlet septum. The left junction is dominated by thefibrouscontinuity between one of the leaflets of the mitral valve and those of the aortic valve. The tricuspid valve had thickening and tethering of its leaflets without downward displacement. The impossibility of reorientation of the valve housing made unsuccessful any attempt to restore normal movements of the valve leaflets. The maximum and minimum diameter of the infundibulum at the hinge point of the leaflets were obtained from different frames during diastole and systole. The remaining 18 (22.2%) specimens revealed aortic valves with two leaflets arranged in ventrodorsal orientation. The second feature is the relation of the bridging leaflets to the septal structures. Both bridging leaflets were attached to the underside of the atrial septum, which was grossly malaligned relative to the ventricular septum. Few larvae were found in dew droplets or concealed within heather leaflets; most larvae were recovered from the plant surface. Constituency activists mailed party literature to local voters; distributed leaflets and posters from door to door; and canvassed voters on their doorsteps. As the study progressed, several revisions of the leaflets and posters were undertaken. I guess you should always have these leaflets somewhere there with you in your bag. Many spoke about distributing posters and leaflets to places where people in the community would pick them up, such as libraries, supermarkets and pharmacies. The study aimed to explore how people responded to and used commonplaces of sustainability drawn from environmental leaflets. Only one patient showed poor coaptation of the leaflets ofthe mitral valve causingsevere valvar regurgitarion. The heart showed thickened leaflets of the tricuspid valve with normal annular insertions. Thickened, dysplastic pulmonary valvar leaflets and a bicuspid aortic valve were also noted. A small ridge of subaortic tissue which did not appear to attach to the leaflets of the mitral valve was resected. Many fibrous nodules were noted within the valvar leaflets, while necrosis, fibrosis, and atrophy of myocardial cells were noted in the papillary muscles. The leaflets are the individual parts of the sleeve of fibrous tissue which opens and closes to form the valvar mechanism. The rule ofclosure may be broken when there is no preoperative regurgitation and the edges of the adjacent leaflets are very thin. Prolapse was seen in three, while two showed increased echogenicity of the leaflets. The normal tricuspid valve has septal, antero-superior, and mural or inferior leaflets. Prolapse was seen in three, one had increased echogenicity of the valvar leaflets, and one patient (patient number three) had both findings. In two cases (case 1 and 3) the pulmonary valvar leaflets were thickened and dysplastic, with partial fusion of the commissures. The valve leaflets should remain viable in both positions as they derive nutrition directly from the blood. The outer leaflets fuse and the distal leaflets are pulled towards each other, forming a dimple. Examples include heart valve leaflets, parachute canopies, thin airfoils (including bird, insect, or bat wings), sails, kites, flags, and weather vanes. Strictly speaking, these were not ' newspapers ' at all#$, but roughly printed political leaflets, issued weekly. The morphologically right ventricle was situated posteriorly, with the leaflets of the tricuspid valve displaced into the ventricular inlet, creating an atrialized component. Most constituency campaign spending goes on printing costs, mainly for leaflets and election addresses. In the most severe cases, the free edges of the leaflets are adherent to the subvalvar muscle with no intervening tendinous cords. Small area jet seen close to the point of coaptation of the valvar leaflets and directed towards the posterior wall of the left atrium. Be that as it may, disease can afflict the annulus, the leaflets or the tension apparatus to produce stenosis, incompetence or both. In these experiments, excised tomato leaflets with petioles were used instead of leaf discs. All new inmates received information leaflets and counselling on harm reduction issues, and on the project itself. No contact between leaflets and fabric in the open position, preventing tissue abrasion. The patch was first anchored with multiple sutures on the bridging leaflets. The potential for shunting across the atrioventricular septal defect then depends upon the relationship between the bridging leaflets and the atrial and ventricular septal structures. While canvassing is the primary means of achieving the former, spending on leaflets, posters and election addresses also contributes to the latter. Three patients had prolapsed leaflets and elongated chords. Tissue tags derived from the leaflets of the tricuspid valve are often related to the borders of these holes, and are seen in several planes. The valve guarding the left atrioventricular junction has three leaflets. The total number of intact leaflets (four leaflets per leaf) and the number of diseased leaflets on the main stem were counted. Thereafter, tomato leaflets were replaced every 24 h until the death of the females. The leaflets of the mitral valve were redundant and very mobile, and in ten patients could not be differentiated from myxomatous valvar prolapse. The odierfivepatients without heart failure (83%) also had abnormalities of the leaflets of the mitral valve. The mitral valve displayed thinning of its leaflets. The unicommissural variant is formed on a tricuspid template, with grossly abnormal attachment of the leaflets. The tricuspid valve was hypoplastic and its leaflets were not dysplastic in this group but the leaflets were dysplastic in hearts with valvar pulmonary atresia. The leaflets of the valve were redundant with prolapse (myxomatous-like) in ten patients (17.8%). Implicated mechanisms for spontaneous closure are again muscular overgrowth, but include prolapse of the leaflets of the aortic valve into the defect. The third hole is roofed by the leaflets of the aortic valve. In one patient, the tricuspid valve was otherwise normal; in the other two the leaflets and cords were also thickened. The patient was referred for surgery, and on direct intraoperative visualization of the valve, the leaflets were thick and rolled. Both atrioventricular valvar orifices were dilated to 4x3cms, with unremarkable but very mobile leaflets. A muscle bar separated the leaflets of the pulmonary and tricuspid valve. The leaflets of the right atrioventricular valve were noted to be abnormal, with cordal attachments to the crest of the ventricular septum. More than the mere provision of leaflets or brochures about care homes is required. Addresses in leaflets, for instance, presumed an entirely male readership. Easily read leaflets should be made widely available in health care settings and elsewhere. The researchers were surprised by the interest that leaflets and posters within the surgery initially generated. Effect of antidepressant drug counselling and information leaflets on adherence to drug treatment in primary care : randomised controlled trial. All the patient information leaflets were then assessed for ease of readability using a number of readability formulas. As noted above, much constituency campaign spending is on leaflets and posters. Political parties would be allowed to distribute pamphlets and leaflets of the electoral manifesto as campaign means. The leaflets actually used by the company contain a total of only 31 pictures, most of which are used in a number of different leaflets. The application domain of the system is the same as before: patient information leaflets. An echocardiogram showed thickening of the mitral valvar leaflets associated with mild- to- moderate mitral regurgitation. The truncal valve has two thickened and dysplastic leaflets. Examination of the excised valvar leaflets showed thickened free edges with a cartilaginous consistency. The second problem is produced by clefts in the leaflets. Our case is distinct from "absent pulmonary valve" because valvar leaflets were present, and hinged in semilunar fashion, albeit that the leaflets were dysplastic. No obstruction of the right ventricular outflow tract was present, and the pulmonary valve had normal leaflets with early systolic opening. Both leaflets are thickened with clear tethering of the anterosuperior one and lack of central coaptation (white open arrowhead). The pulmonary valvar leaflets appeared morphologically normal but showed no detectable systolic opening. There was no morphological correlation between the arrangement of the superior and the inferior bridging leaflets. Each family originated from an unrelated pair with aortic valves having three leaflets. The site of measurement was chosen at the attachment of the leaflets of the pulmonary valve to the muscular infundibulum. Incompetence is more usually due to dilatation of the ventriculoarterial junction, but can be the consequence of congenital or acquired deformation of the valvar leaflets. Annular dilatation or abnormalities of leaflets and tension apparatus, notably prolapse, are the common cause of incompetence, and again can be congenital or acquired. All of the valves showed asymmetry of the leaflets. Special attention was given to the raphe and the leaflets, the calcification of which can lead to stenosis. In the remaining 12 cases, we were unable to discover nodules, although calcification of four valves made the examination of leaflets difficult. Upon retraction of the valve leaflets, it was noted that the entire left ventricular outflow tract was grossly abnormal. Since it is easy to miss valves with two leaflets, we considered it important to review all 2,000 valves. Five valves exhibited the leaflets to the left and right (38%), with the zone of apposition running antero-posteriorly. The insufficiency in one was due to endocarditis, but in the other was due to redundancy of the leaflets. The morphology of the normal aortic valve as compared with the aortic valve having two leaflets. As for the size of the leaflets, there was no valve with leaflets of equal size. The aortic valve has three leaflets, while the pulmonary valve has two slightly thickened leaflets. The bridging leaflets of the common valve were partially attached to the well-developed atrial septum, but not to the ventricular septum. We asked them to check grossly each aortic valve through simple visual inspection, and to count the number of leaflets. In a further heart the aortic leaflets were fused and stenotic but not bifoliate. The right coronary artery originated from the solitary anterior facing sinus of the aortic valve, which had two leaflets. These examples are from corpora and from sources on the web.
