When a remnant of the interventricular membranous septum is also present, the so-called membranous flap, it lies immediately on top of the atrioventricular bundle. This ring, as well as being interventricular, is also atrioventricular at its initial location within the inner curvature of the heart. The interventricular grooves are shallow and identifiable only by the courses of the interventricular coronary arteries. At this point, the exact dimensions of the patch required to cover the interventricular communication can be evaluated exactly. In such patients, the interventricular defect is usually small, and shunting is limited by tendinous cords tethering the bridging leaflets. In many patients, however, the diameter of the interventricular communication is smaller than the diameter of the arterial orifice to which it is connected. One group had an interatrial shunt constructed, the other had an interventricular shunt constructed. An interventricular communication, however, was described in a single case in the literature3 and was seen in the present case. This system is applicable to all interventricular communications, no matter how malformed the heart may be in which they are enclosed. Atrioventricular septal defect with common atrioventricular junction was easily diagnosed on the basis of a common atrioventricular valve permitting interatrial and interventricular communications. This right ventricular musculature membranous septum, with its atrioventricular forms the supraventricular crest, and is also and interventricular components incorporated described as the ventriculo-infundibular fold. The hinge of the septal leaflet of the tricuspid valve, crossing the membranous septum, divides this part of the septum into atrioventricular and interventricular components. Screening for congenital heart disease echogenicity may also be found in the ventricular walls and the interventricular septum. The branching part was situated at the left side of the interventricular septum. In addition to the normal interventricular communication a defect was present within the ventricular septum. In those patients in whom the interventricular communication is doubly committed the technique of operation is similar to that used for subaortic defects. At the last follow-up, no patients had residual interventricular shunting, associated cardiac lesions, or required any cardioactive medications. Hearts with a more deficient interventricular septum (scooping) showed marked left axis deviation regardless of the development of the atrial septum (a and b). Cross-sectional echocardiography demonstrated intact interatrial and interventricular septal structures on the apical four chamber view. In our patient, a hole was demonstrated at the anticipated site of the atrioventricular septum, but no interatrial or interventricular communication was detected. When the interventricular communication is subpulmonary, then there are two options. In the second, we did not diagnose presence of an anomalous anterior interventricular branch of the left coronary artery which was damaged during the operation. Reduction in the size of the right ventricle and normalization of the interventricular septal motion occurred in all patients. These examples are from corpora and from sources on the web.
